Seeing as Cutter starts at one higher tech 1, his units already have an upgraded advantage, so if a player were to rush in combination with a barracks, it's no surprise why this would cripple a base early on. The elephant might not look like much, but it does suit the convenience of Cutter, considering it allows him to build up units anywhere where it's setup. This can be used repeatedly over a base to assist with destroying it quickly. If that is not enough, it's very devastating after it's fully upgraded, and that is mainly because multiple shots can be fired, rather than just an increase in damage. That MAC blast can take out groups of units with just one hit. He may have the weakest area on the economy side, but compared to the Covenant, this is not a major issue. (Also UNSC VS UNSC is more balanced because leaders possess plenty of the same units and abilities that they can use on each other, such as the disruption bomb.)īonus: All bases start at one higher tech 1 For now, I will at least point out that Cutter's bonus becomes pointless in deathmatch, but Anders still receives half-price on units or the other half to the 2-in-1 bonus. I'm going to mention below why this is brought up. Also, please remember that in deathmatch, everything is upgraded and population is claimed by taking bases. I want to do a review of what each leader possesses, so I can explain why I view some issues in the game's balancing. UNSC have unique advantages available to them from the beginning. I like most aspects of the gameplay, but there are some notable issues that I always needed to question, and now is better than never.

I think the story fits well with Halo lore. For the most part, it feels like the Halo experience is captured well as an RTS game, which is fine because Halo was originally meant to be an RTS game. Now I appreciate what Ensemble Studios did as for how the game looks visually, and how the sounds function.

The reason why I needed to make this thread was because there have been issues bothering me for quite a long time now, that I feel it is time to get everything off my shoulders, whether it's flawed or looks incomplete. Also note that there are a number of glitches I have encountered repeatedly, but I will not be discussing them in this post. I'm also going to describe other aspects of gameplay or abilities that are gone from the Covenant's side of the battlefield. (I know this is late but please read me out.)įirst of all, I would just like to say that I have been a Halo fan from the beginning and that Halo Wars is one of my favorite RTS games, and I have spent almost 70 hours on the Steam version after playing at least 25 hours back on the 360.
